Installation Error - installation blocked by antivirus software
The Antivirus software installed on your computer may block the installation of TracePro, OSLO, RayViz or some related software module. We would like to be able to say with confidence that you should simply disable your antivirus software and run the installation, but that would not be appropriate. While we know that we did not create the installer as a virus, a virus could be introduced into the installer while on our website, during the download, or while saved to your computer. Also, a real virus could have been created with the same name as our installer file. Here are a few suggestions of actions that could be performed to help you make a decision if the antivirus software is reporting a false positive: 1- The file LambdaLicenseUpdate.exe is built into the installers for TracePro, OSLO, or RayViz. If this is the file that was blocked by the antivirus software, you can try installing it separately, it is available for download from the Current Release webpage for each application:
2- You can send the installer file to your antivirus software provider for analysis. Most antivirus software companies have a webpage to submit suspicious files. 3- There is a free web service that will compare the analysis of several antivirus programs on a suspicious file:
4- You can try installing TracePro, OSLO, or RayViz on another PC that you are willing to put at risk, and disable the antivirus software on that PC. If you decide to move forward:
- disable antivirus software
- install TracePro, OSLO, or RayViz
- enable the antivirus software
