Identify the surface that you want to add an aspheric to and choose the grey box in the "Special" column of that surface.
Choose " Polynomial Asphere (A)" from the pop-up list
If you want to add a conic constant to the surface choose " Conic/Toric" from the resulting pop-up list
If you want to add higher order aspheric terms to the surface, choosing " Standard Asphere" will allow you to enter a sufficient number of higher order aspheric terms for most purposes. (Note that other forms of aspheric surfaces are available)
Refer to the online help (Contents>>Lens Entry>> Special Surface Data>>Aspheric) for a description of the mathematical formulas of the different aspheres. Instructions are similar for other types of aspheric surfaces in OSLO.
