Did You Know? Interactive Optimizer Periodic Features

Did you know you can design and optimize periodic features using the Interactive Optimizer in TracePro? Periodic features are features or structures that are repeated along a surface. Periodic features can be applied to straight or curved surface segments, and they can also be applied to multiple surfaces.

These features can be used as microlenses, diffusers, scattering surfaces, and many other functions. Periodic features are used in light guides, lenses, backlight displays, and a myriad of other applications.

Surfaces with these periodic features can be revolved, extruded, or swept along a 2D or 3D path to create solid objects.

The Interactive Optimizer in TracePro features four different types of periodic features, Circle, Triangle, TriCircle, and Trapezium. The parameters of these features, such as pitch, width, height, peak location, radius, and angle can be varied.

These parameters can also be set as variables for use during the optimization process.
