Did you know TracePro has the capability to model bulk scattering? Bulk scattering is scattering inside of an object. The Bulk Scatter property is available in the Standard and Expert editions of TracePro.
Some examples of bulk scattering are scattering inside blood or tissue, scattering inside of liquids, volume diffusers, and scattering inside of gasses, such as air. Some applications using bulk scatter include pulse oximeters, water quality testers, LED diffusers for illumination, and smoke detectors.
TracePro has three options for modeling bulk scattering: Henyey-Greenstein, Gegenbauer, and a user-defined DLL option. The user-defined DLL option is only available in the Expert edition of TracePro. Bulk scattering properties can vary as a function of wavelength.

TracePro includes a catalog of human tissue bulk scattering properties. Users can also add their own properties to their TracePro property database using the convenient Bulk Scatter Property editor tool.

TracePro’s Bulk Scatter capability gives users the ability to model and analyze scatter inside of a variety of different objects and materials, allowing for the design, analysis, and optimization of applications that depend on internal scattering.
