TracePro 2022 released!

We are pleased to announce TracePro 2022  was released February 10th, 2022. TracePro 2022 further enhances the most powerful and sophisticated optical analysis and design software available today. TracePro streamlines the prototype-to-manufacturing process by combining an intuitive 3D CAD interface, superior ray tracing performance, advanced utilities, and seamless interoperability with other mechanical design programs.

New geometric modeler and GUI

This release is significant because it incorporates a new geometric modeler, KOSMOS/KCM, along with an updated graphical user interface. The general appearance and feature set remain similar to TracePro 2021, with the exception of new optical surface shapes. The development of this substantial architectural improvement underscores our commitment to the platform and gives us the ability to add significant feature updates in the future.

New lens element features

The new modeler gives TracePro the capability to model asymmetric and free-form optical surfaces with the accuracy required for optical ray tracing. As a result, we were able to expand the Lens Element capability to include a total of 20 different surface shapes. The new modeler gives the capability to add new surface shapes,  so we expect that the list of available surface shapes will continue to grow.

New file format

CAD translators such as STEP, IGES and SAT are now bundled with TracePro at no additional charge, delivering great value for your perpetual or subscription license. In addition, the the following CAD importers are now bundled with TracePro as well, SOLIDWORKS , NX/Unigraphics, Inventor, Creo/Pro-E , SolidEdge , CATIA v4 and v5.
