Using OSLO for interferometry

Question

Is it possible to use OSLO for designing interferometers?

Synopsis

Using OSLO for interferometry

Solution

In an interferometer, the user designs two different optical paths or "arms" of the system. This is easily done by creating two configurations using skip surfaces in OSLO. The current version of OSLO has a default analysis that allows the user to compare each configuration with an absolute reference. This capability is sufficient for designing an interferometer. To model an interferometer in actual use, the user then needs to compare or "interfere" the wavefront of one configuration of the interferometer with the other. In the current version of OSLO the user can do this by comparing the individual interferometric patterns of each configuration manually (where each is already compared to an absolute reference).
