Symptoms
- The software fails to launch.
- License Troubleshooter opens.
- The message reads: License serial no. XXX does not support TracePro/OSLO/RayViz release YYY.
- License Details shows: License has been deactivated by Lambda Research Corporation.
The licensing software is CodeMeter from Wibu Systems AG. Lambda Research has added a deactivation capability. When multiple licenses are available, CodeMeter cannot account for licenses deactivated by Lambda Research. It tries to launch the software using the deactivated license instead of selecting another license.
Note: This Knowledge Base article does not apply if License Details shows deactivated by CodeMeter.
Solution
Remove or delete the deactivated license:
- Consider saving a screenshot of the message before deleting the license.
- Select the deactivated license in the List of Licenses in License Troubleshooter.
- Select Resolve.
- Continue with the steps to remove or delete the license.
