Error in Glass Catalog when the Glass Catalog file is directly edited

Question

"I wanted to add a number of glasses to the Private Glass catalog, so I decided rather then doing them one-by-one, I would directly edit the ""private.glc"" file in the "".../private/bin/glc/"" file folder. However, when I do this, I find that when I try to access some of the glasses in the Private Catalog from within OSLO, I get the following error messages:
 Glass not found: XXXXXX
and
 SERIOUS ERROR IN LENS SETUP!
Note that this only happens to some of the glasses in the Private Catalog. What is wrong with these glasses? Did I enter them wrong?"

Synopsis

Error in Glass Catalog when the Glass Catalog file is directly edited

Workaround

The error messages that you encountered indicate that some of the glass names in the glass catalog are not in alphabetical order. If you attempt to use one of the glasses that are not in alphabetical order, you will encounter the error you described. To temporarily remedy this problem: just place the glasses in the glass catalog file in glass name order.

Solution

For a long term solution: we plan on re-writing the OSLO code so that the glass catalogs do not need to be in alphabetical order. This fix will be available in some future edition of OSLO.
