TracePro Introductory Tutorials

New to TracePro? These three tutorials build your foundation in sequence: model setup, ray tracing, and reading analysis results. Each works in every TracePro edition, including the trial. Request one here if you don't have TracePro installed yet.

1. Raytrace and Analysis: The essential first exercise. Open a prepared elliptical reflector model, run your first Monte Carlo ray trace, and read the results in irradiance maps and the analysis tools. Start the exercise.

2. Integrating Sphere: Build a classic integrating sphere: define diffuse white surface properties, place a source and detector, and see how multiple scattered reflections produce uniform illumination. Integrating spheres are a staple of radiometric measurement, making this a practical introduction to surface properties and flux accounting.

3. Lightpipe

After these, continue to the feature tutorials for ray files, luminance maps, and importance sampling, or the application tutorials for fluorescence, backlight, and tissue optics walkthroughs. Prefer live instruction? TracePro Online Training.
