- Choosing a catalog lens: pull a real, purchasable lens from OSLO's built-in vendor catalogs instead of designing from scratch.
- Effective focal length assessment: combine a plus/minus lens pair and compare OSLO's computed EFL against the thin-lens estimate, seeing where the approximation holds and where it breaks.
- A Keplerian telescope: build the classic two-positive-lens telescope and examine its magnification and image orientation.
- A Galilean telescope: swap in a negative eyepiece and compare the two configurations.
These exercises need nothing beyond OSLO EDU, which is free to download and use: no license fee, no time limit.
