Did you know? Stray Light

Did you know TracePro was the first graphical user interface (GUI) based stray light analysis program? To this day, TracePro remains a leading choice for stray light analysis.

Stray light can be thought of as unwanted light. Stray light can cause problems in optical systems such as image degradation, loss of resolution, or a lower signal to noise ratio. Stray light can be from internal or external sources. Stray light can be caused by many factors such as light sources out of the field of view of the system, scattering from surfaces or objects, self-emission in infrared systems, and light leakage due to design flaws. Reducing stray light can improve the performance of most optical systems.

TracePro has the tools necessary for stray light analysis. Tools such as Importance Sampling, Ray Sorting, and the Path Sort Table. These tools allow you to identify and eliminate difficult stray light problems. TracePro allows you to address both external and internal stray light issues.
