I want to analyze my lens at different temperatures. I understand that one of the ways to do this is to define the lens as having more than one configuration and change the temperature in different-

configurations. But in the multi-configuration editor, the cell under "Item" does not accept "TEM". Is there something wrong with it?

Synopsis

Using TEM command in multi-configurations

Solution

I assume that you are using OSLO 6.2. Lambda Research found some significant errors with the way TEM was implemented across different configurations just prior to the release of OSLO 6.2. Rather than release software that gave incorrect answers, we opted to remove this capability from OSLO 6.2 until it could be addressed properly. The problem has been fixed and TEM now operates correctly across different configurations as of the OSLO 6.2.2a update. The following is part of the release notes in OSLO 6.2:
  • Disabled Environmental Temperature control (TEM) to be different across multiple configurations until implementation can be properly fixed. Note this problem was fixed in the 6.2.2a release of OSLO. Here are excerpts from the OSLO 6.2.2a release notes:
  • Updated and restored the TEM command functionality across different configurations (it was removed in OSLO 6.2 until a major correction could be implemented). For information specific to using TEM as a configuration parameter, see TEM_C in the OSLO on-line help.
  • Corrected operation of TEM command to remove hysteresis errors. All material expansion calculations are now performed in combination with a reference temperature of 20 degrees C. Prior to this correction, changing the system temperature from 20 C to 80 C and back to 20 C would result in linear distances of the system not rng to the original 20 C values.
Multi-configuration systems are only available in OSLO Premium and OSLO Standard.
