Whether you are installing TracePro for the first time, updating an existing seat, or deploying to a network license server, the steps below cover the full process. Each TracePro release adds capabilities, performance improvements, and fixes across the ray trace engine, source and property libraries, and CAD interoperability. The complete change list for every version is maintained in the TracePro Revision History. If you are updating from an older major version, review the Update Guide before installing.
TracePro runs on 64-bit Windows; check the TracePro Computer Requirements before upgrading, particularly for GPU-accelerated photorealistic rendering and large Monte Carlo simulations. Installing a new version does not remove your existing properties databases, but backing up custom property databases and macros before a major upgrade is good practice.
