Warning Message - out of valid wavelength range (400 to 700)

Question

Why do I see "Warning Message - out of valid wavelength range (400 to 700)", and how can I resolve the problem?

Synopsis

Warning Message - out of valid wavelength range (400 to 700)

Solution

TracePro 7.2.0 introduced a new feature in TracePro. If you select any Material Property in the Material Property Editor, there are now fields for a Min and Max Wavelength. These values are intended to be used to define the wavelength range where the property is valid and provides a warning when the ray trace is outside that wavelength range.

TracePro Properties are defined using wavelengths in um. If the creator of the property mistakenly used nm for defining the property (the visible wavelength range is 400-700 nm, or 0.4-0.7 um), this error message will result. The property should specify the valid wavelength range as 0.4 - 0.7.

The solution to this issue is to edit/update the TracePro Properties with this incorrect wavelength range. From the TracePro menu, select Help/Update Property Database.
