Did you know TracePro has a powerful and flexible path sorting tool. The Path Sort Table allows users to see all of the different and discrete paths rays take to get to a selected surface in the TracePro model, such as a detector or a target. Each ray in the path will have the same path through the optical system, the same wavelength, and be emitted from the same source.
The ray paths can be displayed in a tabular format, or graphically directly in the TracePro model. The Irradiance/Illuminance Map will also show the results for the selected path.
Filters can be applied to the Path Sort Table to further refine the results. For example, only show ray paths that hit particular surfaces or objects in the optical system or only show rays that have scattered reflections.
The Path Sort Table is an invaluable tool for stray light analysis. The Path Sort Table allows you to see all of the paths rays take and to sort them by flux so you can determine if the stray light path is likely to cause a problem.
If you need to know how rays get to selected surfaces in your optical system, the Path Sort Table in TracePro is your go to tool.
